How to Delete Your Data
All CodeCluster data is stored locally on your device. You can delete it at any time using these methods:
Delete individual history entries
- Open the History tab.
- Find the entry you want to remove.
- Swipe to delete or use the delete action on the entry.
Clear all scan history
- Go to Settings → History.
- Choose Clear all history.
- Confirm the action.
Delete generated codes
Generated QR codes saved to history can be removed the same way as scanned entries — delete individual items or clear all history in Settings.
Uninstall the App
Uninstalling CodeCluster from your device removes the App and its local database, settings, and cached data. This cannot be undone unless you created a backup first.
Android cloud backup is disabled. CodeCluster app data is excluded from Google’s automatic backup and device transfer. Uninstalling the App is sufficient to remove data from your device; it will not remain in a Google backup copy.
Moving Data to Another Device
Because Android backup and iCloud do not sync CodeCluster data automatically, use the in-app backup feature:
Encrypted backup (recommended)
- On your old device: Settings → Backup & Export → Encrypted backup.
- Choose a strong password and save the backup file to a location you control (files app, cloud storage you trust, etc.).
- On your new device: install CodeCluster and use Import backup.
- Enter the same password to decrypt. Encryption uses AES-256-GCM with PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 (100,000 iterations).
Keep your backup password safe. CaffeineByte cannot recover it or decrypt your file.
Plain JSON or CSV export
You can also export unencrypted JSON or CSV files. These contain your scan data in readable form — store and transfer them securely.
Common Questions
Do I need an account?
No. CodeCluster works entirely offline on your device with no registration.
Does the App send my scans anywhere?
No. Scanning, history, and content detection are processed locally. Data leaves your device only when you explicitly share, export, open a link, or take another action you confirm.
Are there ads or analytics?
No. CodeCluster has no advertisements, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking.
What do URL warnings mean?
CodeCluster shows local warnings for URLs that may deserve extra caution — for example shortened links, very long URLs, many subdomains, or extensions like .apk or .exe. These are not safety guarantees. The App does not check links against external reputation services. Always verify before opening a link, especially from unknown sources.
Camera not working?
Ensure camera permission is granted in system settings. On some devices, a privacy overlay or another app using the camera may block access. Restart the App after granting permission.
Biometric lock issues?
Biometric lock requires a enrolled fingerprint or face on your device. If biometrics fail, disable biometric lock from system settings or reinstall the App (after backing up data if needed).
